Grecian Gowns and Swimsuits at Badgley Mischka

Badgley Mischka made a splash with a wearable1920s French Riviera-inspired spring 2008 collection. Most noted for their glamorous red-carpet gowns (which there were plenty of — including a satin and chiffon floor-length Art Deco halter dress with geometric stripes), the duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka also brought to the runway this season bathing suits and casual day wear. Although the line was full of its typical blacks, grays, and whites, there were also brighter-hued designs, such as a curry color cotton gauze dress with thin plum belt placed high on the waist. The duo also found inspiration in the past, updating flapper dresses and colorful Grecian gowns.
