Supporters of President Trump gathered outside his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida in the waning evening hours Tuesday with a clear message to the federal officials who had just raided his Mar-a-Lago estate: Back off.

Gathered in pickup trucks and other vehicles blasting music, the demonstrators could be heard screaming “F*** you” to other passersby, according to local media reports.

Other supporters gathered on Mr. Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, where they also decried the search.

“I remember when citizens were INNOCENT until proven GUILTY. Unfortunately we are seeing what happens when leftists attend statist schools,” one user wrote.

Another said: “Only Trump can save us, there is a reason the devil is not targeting DeSantis or other patriots,” referring to the Florida governor.

Others said the U.S. government will be “held accountable” and threatened violence of varying degrees against federal authorities.

Many supporters questioned the legality of the FBI raid, and even more used Mr. Trump’s Truth Social post about the raid to attack President Biden as well as the president’s son, Hunter, and a failed Democratic presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton.

Mr. Trump’s initial post about the search on his social media platform was favorited more than 123,300 times. It has been shared more than 46,400 times.

As the Sun reported Monday, the FBI search of Mr. Trump’s home has launched him into a perilous new legal phase.

Mr. Trump himself broke the news in a statement he posted to Truth Social when he said his “beautiful home” was “currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.”

The former president lamented that the “unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.” He said it was  “prosecutorial misconduct.”

“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,” Mr. Trump wrote.

Neither the FBI nor the Department of Justice have released statements as to why the raid was conducted or what they were looking for, but widespread reports said the agents were executing a search warrant related to the preservation of confidential presidential documents.

As the Sun has reported, the 4th Amendment of the United States Constitution requires that a warrant be issued for a search of this nature and that it name the persons or things to be seized.

Those warrants aren’t typically made public, the Sun reported, or at least not in the early stages of an investigation. Under normal procedures, Mr. Trump’s lawyers, who were present at least part of the time during the search, would have a copy of the warrant detailing why the search was conducted and what was removed from the property.

Mr. Trump, who was in New York at the time of the raid, specifically noted that agents had allegedly opened a safe at his home.
