A City Council Member from Queens who complained that parking attendance were bilking fans at a recent Yankees playoff game, Hiram Monserrate, is planning to introduce a bill that would create uniform parking fees in stadium and arena lots around the city.

The bill also would establish penalties for raising these fees for special events, such as a concert, sporting tournament, or a playoff game. Mr. Monserrate said an attendant working at a lot that advertised a $50 parking fee offered to park his car for $150, though a sign on the lot indicated it was full. He said he’s been told that the price is closer to $30 during regular season games.
