U.S. Proposes Wallet-Size Passport Cards

WASHINGTON — The U.S. State Department formally proposed creating a wallet-size passport that citizens may use when traveling to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.
The card, which would contain radio frequency coding to link it to a database of biographical data and a photo, would be used when a new rule goes into effect next year requiring a passport for travel among those countries.
