Celebrating Cocoa

At the 10th annual Chocolate Show, which runs Friday to Sunday, 65 chocolatiers from around the world will turn the Metropolitan Pavilion into a chocolate universe. A chocolate art walk featuring art made out of chocolate, and a chocolate lounge offering cocoa-infused cocktails is part of the celebration.
Guests can sample creations from large manufacturers, such as Lindt; smaller organic chocolate-makers, such as Dagoba, and local favorites including Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar. A cookbook booth will feature guests including the author of the new book “Discover Chocolate” (Gotham), Clay Gordon, at 3 p.m. on Friday, and the chocolatier Jacques Torres at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Younger visitors can make milk-chocolate thumbprint murals and attend a chocolate fondue workshop between noon and 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, and between 10:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.
The evening before the Chocolate Show opens to the public, there will be a preview and an edible-designs fashion show benefiting the nonprofit organization, City Harvest. Creations include an Indian-inspired sari from cocoa nibs and piped chocolate.
