MADISON SQUARE GARDEN Madison Square Park gardener Kim Wickers leads a walking tour of the park, showing off how it has changed since its renovation four years ago. Ms.Wickers also offers urban gardener tips on preparing for winter. Saturday, 11 a.m., meet at the fountain near the Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street entrance, 212-538-4689, free. Reservations requested.
BUS THE BOROUGH Architectural historian Tamara Coombs conducts a bus tour of Staten Island’s North Shore. Stops include the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Alice Austen House, and a pair of exceptional private homes. Attendees should bring their own lunches. Sunday, 9:15 a.m.-2 p.m., meet at Whitehall Ferry terminal at the top of the escalators, east of Battery Park at the southernmost tip of Manhattan, 212-935-2075, $40, $35 Municipal Art Society members, reservations required.
