WEST MEETS EAST The Japan Society’s new Monday Play Reading introduces American audiences to contemporary Japanese plays. The first, Hisashi Inoue’s “The Face of Jizo,” explores a father-daughter relationship after the Hiroshima bombing (tonight, 7:30 p.m.). The second play, “Fireflies,” by Toshiro Suzue,explores the loneliness of several men and women in a large city (Monday, September 19, 7:30 p.m.).
