POETIC NEW YORK The Poetry Project welcomes more than 130 writers, musicians, dancers, and artists for its 32nd annual New Year’s Day festival of readings. Performers include Penny Arcade, Eric Bogosian, Steve Earle, John Giorno, Philip Glass, Lenny Kaye, Eileen Myles, Hal Sirowitz, and Patti Smith. Saturday, 3 p.m. until approximately 1 a.m., the Poetry Project, St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, 131 E. 10th St. at Second Avenue, 212-674-0910, $8 general, $7 seniors and students, $6 members, seating is first-come, first-served.
