CAMBRIDGE CHOIR The Choir of Clare College of England joins the St. Thomas Choir for a concert under directors Timothy Brown and John Scott.The music selection includes works by Britten, Har ris, Howells, and New York-based composer Nico Muhly. STRUNG ALONG The opera “Red Beads” tells a coming-of-age story set in turnof-the-century New England using contemporary music, ancient Japanese dance styles, and modern puppetry. Lee Breuer, who wrote the book, serves as director, and Wonjung Kim stars as the voice of the daughter and the woman. The score was composed by Ushio Torikai. SITAR SOUNDS Sitar player Irshad Khan, who specializes in the surbahar (bass sitar), performs a concert of classical, folk, and “worldbeat” tunes. He conducts a workshop the next day (Saturday, $20).
