For sweethearts who want to spend quality time together while being pampered, the gift that pleases is a trip for two to a day spa. Many spas around town are offering "lovers" packages for Valentine's Day, but a day of relaxation also makes a welcome gift.

The Sports Club/L.A. Splash Spa offers a Couples' Retreat ($270 for two nonmembers) including a 50-minute massage for two with aromatherapy oils and sensual music that ends with champagne and strawberries. But to really indulge, sign up for the Sweet Retreat (originally $495, now $400) and enjoy a facial, hot stone therapy massage, a honey body refiner, and a brown sugar pedicure.
