While some New Yorkers will make the 13-hour flight to Beijing just in time for the opening ceremony of the Games next week, fashion devotees who opt to stay local can attend an Opening Ceremony of another kind. The downtown boutique, dedicated to showcasing designers from a different spot on the globe each year, will host a 24-hour in-store event to coincide with the Olympic Games kickoff; the shop will remain open 'round-the-clock for the duration of the first weekend. Visitors can stop in to watch the games on TV, munch on snacks, participate in a 5 a.m. karaoke session, or indulge in retail therapy: Among the items on sale are limited-edition Opening Ceremony Olympics exclusives such as metallic-hued Air Max 1s from Nike Sportswear and jewelry by Philip Crangi and Fallon.
