The drivers of two out-of-control vehicles died yesterday in separate high-speed car crashes in uptown Manhattan, police officials said.
Francis Acosta, 24, was speeding north on the Henry Hudson Parkway at about 3:35 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the center divide of the highway, police said. The car then went airborne and landed on the exit ramp of the southbound exit at 95th Street, police said.
About an hour earlier, Angelo Corpas, 45, was driving south on Madison Avenue in a sports-utility-vehicle when he smashed into a taxi that was stopped at a red light at 135th Street, causing his car to flip upside down, police said. The taxi driver was treated for minor injuries.
