Mayor Bloomberg has appointed a veteran of the city's Economic Development Corporation, Seth Pinsky, as the organization's new president. Mr. Pinsky assumes the post vacated by Robert Lieber, who is currently serving as deputy mayor.
As an EDC vice president, Mr. Pinsky worked on several of the city's biggest development projects, including the new Mets and Yankee stadiums and the Atlantic and Hudson Yard developments. Before joining the EDC in 2003, Mr. Pinsky was an associate with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. Mr. Lieber, who replaced deputy mayor Daniel Doctoroff, had been the EDC's head for less than a year. He was on hand at City Hall yesterday for Mr. Pinsky's appointment.
