Body of Queens Officer Found in Park: Police Say Suicide Is Cause

The body of an off-duty police officer was recovered yesterday from a Queens park, in what police are saying is a case of suicide. The New York Police Department is not releasing the name of the 21-year-old officer, but said that he had only been with the 115th precinct in Queens for a few months.

The body of the officer, who police say died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, was found in Poppenhusen Park in College Point yesterday morning.
