U.S. Military Unveils Heat Ray Gun

A ray gun that can blast out intense heat to control rioters and disable terrorists was unveiled by American military chiefs yesterday. Designed to cut down on civilian casualties in hostile countries, the device can blast out temperatures more than 130 degrees Fahrenheit at a range of up to 550 yards. The Active Denial System, or "Silent Guardian," penetrates clothes, suddenly heating up the skin. The effect, said to be like a blast from an oven, is enough to cause discomfort but no lasting harm, according to the military.
"This is a breakthrough technology that's going to give our forces a capability they don't now have," an American defense official, Theodore Barna, said
