PARIS — Three Americans, including a 7-year-old boy, were killed in a small plane crash in the French Alps over the weekend, the American embassy confirmed Monday.
The Piper Archer twin-engine jet crashed into a rock face in the French Alps on a flight from southern England to Cannes, a regional French official said Sunday.
Shimon Awerbuch, Awerbuch's 7-year-old son, Everett, and Maria Ribiero were killed in the crash, said Lynne Platt, a spokeswoman at the American embassy. The three had been living in Britain for several years, and it was not immediately clear where in America they were from, Ms. Platt said.
