How provincial and stupid is Israel's ban on playing the music of Wagner. If Hitler had really understood the Ring's message , he would have known what his own fate would be. Evil leads to total destruction. Parsifal is the most moving of all music to me. "durch Mitleid wissend" may be one of the most profound expressions in music. I am almost 83 years old. I'm a veteran of WWII, serving from Feb 1943 to April 1946. I landed in Normandy and was in Germany on VE day. I saw the first pictures from one of the camps. When the signal corps showed them to us, no one could speak for some time. I am for Israel. Some day Wagner will be played there.
