Hillary at the Helm

As of now I have no doubt that Mrs. C. will secure her party's nomination. She may catch the football, but then what? Hopefully a worthy Conservative adversary will come forth. With regard to the Iraq position... or today's non-committal non-position du jour, what will change as the election runs its course? What course will she stay? Will we add more troops yet? Will we summarily take them out? Will we redeploy in the north, the south, the cities, in rural areas?

Also avoiding the mentions of bin Laden and Iran ... would that illustrate a policy of issue-avoidance? What with chatter of Iranian-N.Korean collusion on developing nuclear arms? The economy is plodding ahead through uncharted ground with our new Fed chairman and uncertainty of oil price volatility. So far so good. Last night Mr. Bush spoke on items to touch some more green-sided issues. Let's hope there's follow through.

I would hesitate drawing conclusions on today's Democrats using the storied Democrats of days gone by.

What of the idea of not using our New York State as a stepstone? I know this issue will be shoved aside by the 'I have to do what's right for me' school of thought. Hopefully the voters will decide they have to do what's right for all of us.

And what of Mr. Bill's appointment? Will he tire of his Harlem office to pursue bigger things at his wife's behest? There is no doubt that the Clintons are good at securing power, positions, and appointments... but then what?? It is still early thank goodness.

Dear John, many thanks again for providing us this forum.

Be well, vsk
