Horse Slaughterhouses May Face Charges Unless They Close
in response to reader comment: Horse Slaughter Houses may face charges

Bravo to The New York Sun for publishing this article regarding the reinstatement of the Texas law banning horse slaughter. Foreign owned slaughter houses who pay virtually no taxes to benefit our economy and export the meat of healthy American horses overseas have lost their gravy train at the taxpayer's expense.

Finally, a panel of judges from New Orleans has ruled the Texas slaughter houses brutal killing of our horses is a violation of the law. Can the lone horse slaughter house in DeKalb, IL be far behind? The dawn of a new day filled with hope and justice has dawned for American horses.

There are bills in congress right now to stop the BLM roundups of wild mustangs and burros, House Bill 503 for a national ban on horse slaughter and a matching bill in the Senate. Everyone who is concerned about the corruption in Washington and the influence of special interest groups should call their Representatives and Senators about these three bills. The undue influence of lobbyists has to stop.

Concerned citizen, Mrs. Terrebonne
