Blame an American First

Ah, the fresh smell of corruption drifting from Turtle Bay! Kudos to Mark Wallace for jumping on this. Secretary General Ban's really got his work cut out for him in his new job and I don't envy him, but I have a lot more trust in him than I did his predecessor. I think he's a good man, and I hope he proves me right. I wish our government would take John Bolton's idea to make UN financing from us voluntary so we can get more value for our bucks. As he previously said, it's fun spending other people's money (we pay 22% of the UN budget while neary half of the other pay almost zip while happily wasting our cash on fraud and mismanagement). The point being, if you know the contributions you get are volunteered, you'll be a whole lot more responsible about how it's spent and in producing satisfactory results.
