Some people are so ignorant and biggoted! I am a 73 year old widow, with a Retarded daughter, who is 53 years old. Several years ago, I was quite ill. It frightened me to think what might happen to my daughter if I died. I was able to find a Good Shepherd living situation and moved her into it. Fortunately, I recovered, but she still lives there. She and about five others live in satellite apartments, with a central apartment for staff that provides meals and oversees medical appointments and medicine distribution. They also have part time employment at a sheltered work shop and group activities. There have never been any untoward incidents. I thank God for the Lutheran Church 's sponsorship of these homes!
