Again, referring only to the Hispanic population. This infuriates me, especially since my parents were Hungarian refuges and came to America in 1956. Both my Father and Mother were able to learn English as well as preserving their Hungarian culture. I grew up in an area where there were many Hungaian communities...but not ONE person was not proficient in BOTH languages. They all sent their children to American schools. My father did not want me to hear English being spoken with a heavy accent, therefore, when I was first sent to school, I did not understand, speak nor write Hungarian. By the end of my school year I was also proficient in both languages and ended up being the Valedictorian of my class.

I guess I'm just trying to understand that why would a country that claims to be a melting pot of immigrants, consistently provide exceptions and special treatments only to the Hispanic/Spanish immigrants as well as their future generations. America should enforce the same rules and regulations to all that live in this country.
