To Love, Honor, Obey — And Study Nursing

Submitted by salome, Sep 24, 2008 22:40

More than 30 years ago,the elites succeeded in closing the last accredited diploma school of nursing here in NYC. My question is a simple one. In the 30 years following the destruction of a tried and true method of both educating and training RNs that were able to work immediately upon graduation,RNs from schools with a higher than 95% passing rate on the state boards,an education that was extremely LESS costly than college classrooms, and only2-3 years--WHY HAVEN'T THEY FIGURED OUT AN ALTERNATIVE ? IT'S been thirty years, and our community and 4 year programs cannot accommodate the number of applicants, and 4.1 million gets wasted on a study.
