The Laureate of Hard Luck: 'The Collected Lyric Poems of Luís de Camões'

Your reviewer (of my The Collected Lyric Poems of Luís de Camões) appears to think half rhymes are not a legitimate poetic device. Where has he been for the last 100 years? But I'm glad he finds the example he quotes 'comical'. Camões was, among much else, an accomplished writer of light and humorous verse and, in the poem quoted, the effect is wholly intentional.
