Boston's Better Prepared For Future Than Yankees

Forgive me for my crude frankness in advance, but this is extremely ignorant article. I like how you praise the Red Sox young players but absolutely give no credit to the players of the Yankees. You say that Bucholtz, despite his struggles, is a promising prospect. Sure he is, but what about Phil Hughes who, yes, has had some struggles but is perhaps an even more promising prospect and is two years YOUNGER than Bucholtz. You also dismiss Joba Chamberlain way too quickly. He is only in bullpen because the Yankees are trying to limit his innings. There is absolutely no reason he should be starting at the moment when the season is all but lost. However, next year he should be in the rotation at some point (he may start in the pen). There is absolutely no question that Chamberlain is dominant--more so against Boston. You also make no mention about Austin Jackson who I believe is ranked in Baseball America's top 100 prospects. My biggest gripe against your article however is how you do not take into account the youth and accomplishments of the Yankees' bullpen. The Yankees should have a bullpen that includes Ramirez, Coke, Veras and Melancon, who are all under 30 and have pitched very well (Melancon in the minors), perhaps by next year. Boston on the other hand have Masterson, who yes has pitched very well, but Papelbon has shown an inablility or reluctance to throw his splitter which was dominant just a few years ago. I understand that you say better prepared, yet the Yankees should be very formidable with Wang and Chamberlain (28 and 23) anchoring the rotation next year. And their lineup is always formidable.
