My family lost just about everything because of AIG's freefall. But to place even a tiny portion of the blame on Spitzer is absolutely ludicrous. AIG faltered solely because it took on tens of billions of dollars of unnecessary risk in subprime loans, entirely on Maurice Greenberg's watch.
