In fact, they haven't really had such a foreign policy grilling. It highlights the Kissinger position though - Kissinger said that getting Ukraine and Georgia into NATO is one step too far, because it limits your options if Russia intervenes. Rather, they should be allowed political and economic ties with the EU, but not NATO defense membership. They should have a buffer quality or aspect - like Finland has had, said Dr Kissinger. That way, if invaded or interfered with by Russia, there are more options than just either appeasement or war. As usual, Henry Kissinger is right, and the McCain and Obama camps better get onboard, or we're in trouble!
