Walsh Showing Patience in Dismantling of Knicks

Regardless of whether the deal was real or not, I think holding is a lot more sensible than several other folks are making things out to be. I commend you for posting this view here. Maybe Z-Bo is not tradable. So be it, unless something worthwhile comes along to move him. He is not the only player that counts against the cap in 2011, he's just the bigggest one. Other players on our roster that aren't exactly making a pittance, have more value, and I suspect are more likely to see it increase remain. The most obvious are Crawford and Curry, who make a total of $20 mil. If the Knicks lose them for more ending contracts before 2010 and they get under the cap enough to sign Lebron or another superstar, what's the problem with one year of Z-Bo at $17 mil? If he can't mesh, and we stay near the cap figure, we cut our losses and lose that money when the next year we see guys like Mello become a free agent, and go after them. Mello + Lebron/Wade for 2012 season is worth keeping Z-Bo around and our draft picks.
