Since I do have a degree in Economics and Business I will comment on the misguided comments of ssbaker. Lesson #1: 28%. The figure 40 years ago was that for the government to spend $1.00 on anything it had to collect $1.28. That 28% is the cost of operation and pays no wages, builds no buildings, paves no roads, puts no money in the Treasury. Lesson #2: All gov't spending is 3rd party. This means that the bureaucrat who authorizes the spending A. Has little or no knowledge of what he is spending the money for. B. Doesn't particularly care what it costs and C. It's not his money! Can you spell "overrun"? All dollars that come from the economy and go to the government effect every occupation out there! There are two sectors: Private and Public! Once again--well said John!
