It would certainly be nice if he went on record that he wants to eliminate the federal bureaucracy, the Dept. of Education and send the education decision making back to where it rightly belongs, at the state and local level. Education should be a function of local government, where voters can exercise some control over the quality, or lack thereof, and press the state and local legislatures for improvements. There is nothing we can do to vote out or change the federal education bureaucracy that has failed our children so miserably! All politics is local. As it should be.
