in response to reader comment: and by this reasoning we should have stopped Israel too

Submitted by Jason Pappas, Jan 4, 2007 15:09

Israel has had to defend herself against aggression time and time again. Israel is largely a refugee nation in which approximately half the Jewish population (or their ancestors) has been ethnically cleansed from Islamic nations – from Morocco to Iran. There were Jews in Alexandria 1000 years before Islam existed. It is Islam that has conquered by the sword following the example of their founder.

Israel, even after being attack by Arab countries, has been able to maintain a 20% Arab population that has more rights than Arab living under Arab rule in any Arab nation. Israel has created a civilized nation where civilized people can live in peace. Arab nations are oppressive, backwards, and in many cases savage. Iraq continues its 40 years of civil strife. Iran hangs homosexuals. Saudi Arabia jails practitioners of other religions. Algeria has had 100,000 killed by internal strife. The Sudan … can you say Darfur?

Iran has sponsored terrorism for 30 years and continues to support hostilities against Israel and America by supporting the Hezbollah aggression last year and the Shiite insurgents in Iraq. You say "all Iran wants is the right of reconquest." To what? Since when has Persia last ruled the Levant? Israel has foolishly surrendered land won by wars of defense time and time again. Such appeasement has failed.
