The trooper story has been vetted since at least July of this year, and locally in Alaska when Palin was running for Governor. There are more important stories about her that you can take the LEAD on rather than follow WaPo, NYTimes today, etc. Hopefully you will pick up on the role of the Arctic Council in organizing countries and governments with a common interest in the area, Alaska's role in the Council, and Gov. Palin's role in putting an administration together to work with this international group. Also please note that Gov. Palin has been over seas more than Sen. Obama for governmental reasons including meetings of the Arctic Council plus taking the time to visit US troops in Kiwit and Germany. On your articles about Gov. Palin, please do not forget to go into her commitment to and participation in international affairs through the Arctic Council (use wikipedia is a start for the Arctic Council for example). They are the group of governments within the Arctic Circle that are strongly committed to caring for Native populations, ecology, trade, tourism, energy resources within the Arctic Ocean Basin. On the latter, Gov. Palin has been a supporter of limiting Russian intervention into the Arctic Region and its energy and it many mineral resources which are just being discovered. Through the Arctic Council Gov. Palin negotiates with other governments, and is in touch for the US through its associated branch in the State Department. It should be noted that Senator Biden voted against some amendments to the State Department functions in the Arctic Council since it infringed on the non-liable status of Delaware Corporations in Alaska and in nations within the council. In many respects the Arctic Council is more important to US resources than is the NATO alliance in Europe Through the Arctic Council Gov. Palin has over the years had more real International experience than Biden could gin up by stretching the truth and involvement of Obama's voting record. Previous to being a Governor, Mayor Palin had to continually compete within her own state for the increased trade, fishing rights, tourism and other resources being made available to the US through its main representative which is Alaska. As a governor, she had to make sure she had effective, professional and responsible people in offices for international meetings, commissions, and competition within the US State Department itself. I hope someone can dig a little into this and get the news out as to how internationally experienced through a real governmental organization that had to be formed because of the ineffectiveness of the UN. And that Gov. Palin has this real International Governmental experience going back many years when her small community had to draw on limited federal resources to expand their local fisheries trade and tourism. Note also that Palin of Alaska and Inoue from Hawaii have had to draw on and build much of the federal legislation built to support the accommodation of native populations and provision of energy resources as well as protecting environmental resourses during development. The above is not as titilating story about her police involvement or care of a pregnant teen aged daughter that decided to raise an unborn child, but it does show that Gov. Palin has more International experience than Sen. Obama, and in a region that will become more crucial in the next few years that apparently Sen. Biden is not familiar with. John E Wayne, PA
