Public Library Liberates Trove of 16 mm Films

Submitted by John Carpenter, Aug 29, 2008 18:23

As a top film historian, restorationist, preservationist & collector of over 3,000 titles of 16mm prints ranging from the teens thru to the 1940's in both the silent & "Talkie" eras & with a assortment of genres specializing in comedy, I have been contacted by 2 Public Libraries & a Institute Of Technology to take their multitude of 16mm prints off their hands & save said from their residing in a dumpster! I am John Carpenter, a Massapequa Park Long Island Independent Theatrical Film maker that tours both Nassau & Suffolk Counties presenting my series of Classic Film lectures/film showings utilizing my vast archive and should any other venue you are knowlegable of that wants a good home for their projectable archive. Please contact newsilentcomedy@gmail.com ASAP bore more of our culture on film winds up lost as did the Nitrate flamable prints of days gone by. Thank you, John Carpenter
