Obama Backers Worry Grand Acceptance May Backfire

The reason Obama has declined in the polls is because despite the fact that the "old" media has done its best to keep the public from knowing the "real" Obama -- the internet and other media venues have alerted the public to the fact that he has a lot of negative qualities. His "associations" are more damaging than the Obama camp likes to think. It's not "guilt by association" in people's minds when they discover he worked with and had a friendly relationship with Bill Ayers, the vile man who bombed the Pentagon and who remains unrepentent. This is a Post 9/11 world, so that kind of a liaison is indeed hurtful to Obama -- as well it should be. (And the Obama camp's response that the bombing happened when Obama was 8 years old is beyond lame. The Ayers-Obama relationship took place when Obama was in his 30s and 40s. It was Ayers who helped to launch Obama's political career in Chicago -- at Obama's bidding. The idea that a person becomes "respectable" just because a number of years passed is ridiculous. According the that premise, the Israelis had no reason to bring Eichmann to justice because by the time they captured him, he was a "respectable" businessman in Argentina.) Remember Mom's admonition about being judged by the company one keeps? Well -- it's true.

Also, during Saddleback, Obama was seen without a teleprompter -- and it wasn't pretty. The worst culprits during this entire campaign has been the media. They did not vet this candidate -- and tried to suppress negative information when it surfaced. The media has demonstrated a corruption that will not soon be forgotten by the American people. If Obama does not win despite the media's overt attempts to get him elected, it will also be a defeat for the dominant, old media -- and good riddance.
