Give Adam Kirsch a standing ovation a thousand times over for having the guts to expose the almighty Patrick J. Buchanan for what he is, was, and will always be - a one dimensional, narrow minded hate mongering lunatic of the far right that if given the opportunity would take Western Civilization back to the Dark Ages. I've heard some incredible things said in my lifetime but to put the blame of World War II at the feet of Winston Churchill take the the term "insanity" to a new dimension. Doesn't he and those of his ilk realize that the Treaty of Versailles, flawed as it was, simply provided Hitler with an excuse to justify his actions? If it didn't exist Hitler would have fabricated something else to justify his actions. In his next book Buchanan will argue that the world is flat. We can hardly wait!
