City Housing Authority May Sell Off Its Air Rights

Submitted by Idy, Aug 22, 2008 12:49

I live in the Douglass Houses in the Upper West Side. There is a great development going on around Douglass Houses. I am in the 80% median income (which means my rent has increased the last 2 years - and will increase in the next 2 years. This is no longer affordable housing. My development is plagued by problems that NYCHA cannot or will not fix like the lack of hot water since the fall of 2007. If NYCHA cannot maintain their property then they need to either sell the buildings or sell the land that is not being used. The rent continues to be raised while the problems continue to become greater. Mismanagement cannot be tolerated!
