If Russia wants to get America's attention just threaten Israel by placing missiles in Syria. Russia can threaten Poland, Europe or any other place it will have no affect. Many power brokers in the US have a greater allegiance for Israel than America. Threaten precious Israel, however, will get their attention guaranteed; once the threat becomes real watch the US become much more cooperative on the missile shield, etc. Once Russia discovers this key it will be a lesson well learnt.
