The author completely disregards individuals who currenlty live, work and own businesses in Willets Point -- have their numbers been subtracted from the "benefits" she cites? The main problem seems to be that the city has failed to maintain the basic infrastructure of this neighborhood -- why have the streets and sidewalks been allowed to fall into such disrepair? Just because new roads are needed doesn't mean that the buildings on them need to be torn down.
