Degrees in Hand, Manhattanites Making Move to Old Bedrooms

Submitted by Joseph Miller, Jul 31, 2008 11:50

Kids everywhere are living with their parents for a little while before college — not just in New York. But somehow, because so many people want to live in Manhattan, native Manhattanites who want to do it are called "freeloaders." The other part of this is that not all Manhattan natives have maids and go to college. I am a native and, although I went to college (to SUNY) my parents certainly don't have a maid! There are thousands of people who are from Manhattan who don't fit these rich kid stereotypes.
