Doing Battle With the Bard

Submitted by Serge Marinkovic MD, May 21, 2008 12:00

I have not read Milton until long after college and medical school but have read and reread Shakespeare since the beginning of my schooling I can access the Bard work as incomparable to anyones. Although Shakespeare quality is unattainable Milton does express some vivid imagery that is very notable in English poetry. Paradise Lost has a prime example. The Bard has no competitors but his rivals still have something to say.
