As some pundits are rightfully pointing out, Obama's problem seems more geographic than demographic. Stop playing in to her campaign's talking points! He has shown himself to be able to get women, middle-class, working class, white voters in many states. It's an ugly and not very well-kept secret that racial bias played a large part in his losses in certain Applaichian states (where there were not enough black voters to off-set the reluctance of white voters in those states to vote for him) but instead of acknowledging that, the media is blaming Obama himself. Since he can't change his skin color I'm pretty convinced he won't be able to make deep inroads into some of those votes. If the Democratic party's decision to choose him as their nominee alienates those voters from the party, so be it. I'd rather be part of a party that loses by standing up for its values than one that tries to pander to voters who don't share its values.
