10 City Schools Are Among 1,300 Named Best in Nation

The public school system in New York is ever striving to be an educational monopoly, especially for the poor. This monopoly serves the people it benefits, namely the teachers and their union. The politicians cater to this monopoly at the expense of the children. The government is an irresponsible educator because the only values it defends or upholds is its self perpetuation. Ronald Reagan was right. Big government isn't the solution, it's the problem. Mike Bloomberg should have stayed in the private sector if he was serious about improving educational opportunities for the children of New York City.
