I just rec'd the year end compendium of articles from the Manhattan Institute. I don't know if it came with my CIty Journal subscription, as a freebie, or if I just lucked out, but it's a fascinating look at the past year.

MI and City Journal should have more influence than they do. Or maybe they *do* have influence and I'm too far down the writer's chain to know it. At any rate, their work is read far beyond Manhattan. And even the NY articles/essays are germane to others. As goes NY, so goes much else....

Happy retirement, Mr. M. Glad to hear you'll still have a hand in things. You'll be a hard act to follow.
