Dying Languages

Submitted by Jack Rail, Jan 1, 2007 01:09

I am multilingual, and have often thought along the same tracks. I do think the human race loses something intrinsically wonderful when a language dies--to wit, the way of thinking it embodied--but commonalities, not differences, are what bring people together. People speaking a common language have a much better chance of communicating than people who don't understand each other's language at all.
