Paving the Way for Playwrights

Submitted by Graham Jones, May 5, 2008 11:32

Why, whenever someone sets up a new theatre group wanting to put on new plays (like Playwrights Realm), they don't seem interested in the old or aging playwrights like me. I have never had much success in my life except to have had ten or so plays published for amateur groups and a couple of plays on radio but that doesn't mean I have given up yet. So perhaps someone somewhere might have the brilliant idea of setting up a theatre group that announces something like: "We are here to use plays that have been on the shelves of old, ageing, even past-it playwrights; come on send 'em in and we'll put them on...."

Some hope.
