It just makes sense that the young people are becoming educated at our fine colleges and universities and then moving out of state. The goal was to make them smarter after all. Why would they stay here? The salaries cannot compare, the job market is stagnant, and the taxes are obscene. After educating my last child at SUNY Geneseo, my husband and I will join all of our children elsewhere. Pretty sad. My ancestors came to New York in 1832 and we have lived here ever since. New York is a beautiful place, but between the high taxes, the dysfunctional government in Albany, and the lack of quality employment, why are any of us staying? I have read that New York's largest export is it's people. I have also read that New York's largest import is people. Unfortunately, a large number of the people we are importing a drain on our society and are the reason our taxes are so high. And so my fellow remaining New Yorkers- look us up in a year or so in North Carolina. It's rapidly becoming the NEW New York!
