Poor, poor Governor Paterson! Although in my view he most certainly has not boarded the gravy train, clearly others beg to differ. More than a slight whiff of professional jealousy, perhaps? Worry not, my dear Sir - over here in England we have a considerable amount of experience in gravy train matters, too!

Doing the rounds recently was the intriguing story of the politician who, er, employed his son as a researcher - which, by the way, he was quite entitled to do - and paid him around $98,000.00 over a couple of years for doing, er, research. The very fact that he actually researched precious little is, of course, of absolutely no importance - for this is politics, you see!

Could it just be that someone, somewhere has actually broken the Eleventh Commandment? Of course, you know the one: "Thou shalt not be found out". But what if they have? After all, this is politics, you see!

So that's all right, then!
