Mayor: 'We Don't Have a Future' If Congestion Pricing Fails
in response to reader comment: Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Car congestion in manhattan is Mayor Bloomberg's doing, over 140,000 free parking cards in the windows of city workers supposenly on official duty, parking anywhere, anytime, all day long while at work.In loading areas, no parking or standing anytime zones, parking meters (i wonder how much revenue the city has lost) etc. Mayor Bloomberg does nothing to reel in this abuse. Establishing bus & bike lanes, now i can see the need for these but to put bus and bike lanes on the same street or avenue takes away driving lanes. i'v read over 400 miles and rising bike lanes, probably double that for bus lanes and you lose over a 1000 miles of car lanes. All the people using the free parking tags that Bloomberg won't recall live outside Manhattan but park free anywhere in Manhattan ( i wonder how much revenue the city loses in parking fees) To eliminate congestion, eliminate the Mayor , a lame duck yes, but we can VOTE OUT ANY COUNCIL PERSON THAT VOTES FOR THIS BILL IN ITS PRESENT FORM. Don't rush to judgement
