Masur Brings The Passion

Now deleted, but possibly to be found used on the web, is a 1990s Universal Classics cd reissue of Scherchen's 1950s performance of the work, also descibable as a "big scale" approach, and a bit ecceentric, as all his things seem to be, but which has the incomparable Hugues Cuenod , which Mr. Ivry mentioned, as the Evangelist. Veterans will recall it as the old Westminster LP set, but it sounds good on cd, and if heard, Cuenod can't be forgotten.
