This is your typical leftist rubbish. Let's see, if we tell the same lie over and over long enough and loud enough, does it eventually become the truth? I think not! All Tihart does is confine trace data on firearms to legitiment law enforcement activities. In other words the cops can still trace any firearm that they believe used in a crime or even a potential crime. What the bill actually stops is the continual "fishing expeditions" and multiple computerized automated accesses of the database which are being used by Bloomberg, "Mumbles" Meninno and the other leftist gang of mayors to construct an illegal gun registry of their own. The dictator of New York or Boston has no right to find out what guns people outside of their their cities are buying, since these are legal purchases under federal law! It's pure and simple, none of their business! Congress has long recognized that "gun registries" are illegal and the Tihart Amment was passed to plug a loophole that allowed the construction of them "through the back door" The Justice Dept and even the gun-hating BATFE recognizes that gun registries are illegal. This is merely the tinhorn dictators of these cities trying to force their rules, policies and philosophies on the entire nation!
